Gregorii Trombo
ABOUT
Gregorii is an American artist residing in California, USA.
He began his career as a commercial lithographer and photographer, apprenticing at age 14. He studied fine art, and worked primarily in acrylics, desiring to recreate the vivid light refraction he uncovered in his imaging role. Gregorii’s goal is to elevate art beyond the flatness of plain, reflective acrylic or oil painting, revealing a deeper luminescent alternative to wall art, reminiscent of stained glass.
ARTIST'S Statement
My art is a testament to the role emotions play in human interaction and their natural place in the universe.
Somehow, we're unified by biological, quantitative and philosophical functions. My desire is for my art to make that evident.
My art is shaped in freeform fashion, much like a soap bubble, confined by its viscosity, but not its form or movement.
Beginning with easily understood geometric forms, I infuse color and shape in a loosely guided method, building the art upon its own components.
I usually begin my pieces by sketching digitally and traditionally to determine a general shape, color scheme and mood.
Once I have a perfected piece, I use special photo polymeric transparent inks, a multilayer cast acrylic mounting process and display the art with a patented self illuminated backing.
